Business telephony

The phone system your business actually owns.

Fonetto runs your extensions, auto-attendant, voicemail, call recording and video meetings — on an appliance in your comms cabinet, on your own server, or hosted. Same software, same interface, wherever you choose to put it.

Three ways to run it

One product, built once. Where it runs is a deployment decision, not a different piece of software with different features.

Appliance

A box that arrives working

A dedicated unit for your comms cabinet. Redundant A/B firmware, so an update that goes wrong falls back to the previous version on its own rather than leaving you without phones.

Server

On hardware you already have

Installs onto a standard Ubuntu Server. Suited to offices with their own rack and their own preferences about what runs on it.

Cloud

Hosted, multi-site

The same platform run for you, with multiple organisations kept properly separate. Sensible when there is no comms cabinet to put anything in.

What it does

The features a working business phone system needs, in the box — not a base product with the useful parts sold separately.

Extensions & departments

Users, groups, ring strategies and per-extension settings.

Auto-attendant

Multi-level IVR menus with your own recorded prompts.

Voicemail

Per-extension boxes, delivered to email when you want it.

Video calls & meetings

One-to-one video and multi-party meeting rooms.

Browser dialpad

Make and take calls from the admin interface — no handset required.

Call recording

Recorded, indexed and playable from the call log.

Reporting

Call detail records, filtering and a live wallboard.

Operator panel

See who is on a call, transfer, park and pick up.

Trunks & numbers

SIP trunks, DID routing and outbound rules.

Fax & SMS

T.38 fax send and receive, plus SMS through your provider.

Paging & intercom

Announce to a zone, or talk to one desk directly.

Presence & BLF

Busy-lamp keys and status that reflects what is real.

How it's built

Fonetto is built on Asterisk, the telephony engine behind a large share of the world's business phone systems. We have put a complete, maintained product around it.

Updates that can be undone

Releases are cryptographically signed, applied from the admin interface, and take a database snapshot before they change anything.

Your data stays yours

On the appliance and server editions, recordings, voicemail and call records live on your hardware, on your premises.

Standard SIP throughout

Standard SIP handsets and standard SIP trunks. No proprietary protocol deciding which phones you are allowed to buy.
